We are staging the three events again on Saturday 10th June 2023 . The times will be as last year with registration at 1130 and different start times for the different events from 1200. We shall have access to the whole village hall this year, so I promise no waiting around in the cold!

The Chase is just over 4 miles including several climbs and is timed. The Crawl at 3,5 miles is the opportunity to enjoy the local landscape at your own pace while the Pootle can be run or walked with your pooch over the same course..

As this is the second running of the new event there will be the chance to beat the course records as set last year for the Chase and the Pootle. The Chase record is currently held by Orlando Bayliss at 31:40 and the Pootle record at 31:15 held by Mal and Moss Fellows. The category records will be available on the website. Once again, participants will receive a memento on the day and there will be refreshments at the Village Hall.  The winner of the Chase will be named on the Richard Bayliss shield.

Online entries will become available early in April. For more details please check on the event website at  www.callowrun.uk.

I am delighted to announce that the event will again be kindly sponsored by Stapeley Veterinary Practice and also supported by Hope Village Hall. As a result we have been been able to keep entry fees the same as last year. Individual entries are £5 (£8 on the day) and family entries are £12 (£15 on the day). Thanks to CB for identifying that this information was omitted from the Newsletter articles.

We are planning to use the same courses as last year and once again I shall be asking for local volunteers to act as marshalls on junctions etc together with any budding photographers / videographers to record different stages of the event. Please contact me at [email protected].
